CARDINAL OTUNGA’S BEATIFICATION OFFICE MOURNS WAHOME
The Central Committee and the entire fraternity within the Maurice Cardinal Otunga Beatification Office, Nairobi joined the family and the friends of Mr Ejidio Ngatia Wahome in prayers.
The late Wahome, who passed on December 7, after three months of ailment in Nairobi Hospital was an active member of the Cardinal Otunga Beatification Process. At different times, some of the members of the Beatification Office joined the family and friends in prayers and at the burial, which took place on December 16 at Iriai-ini in the Nyeri County.
On December 15 for example, a requiem Mass in memory of the late Mr Wahome took place at the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Nairobi where the main celebrant was His Eminence John Cardinal Njue. And on December 16, another requiem Mass took place at Karima Catholic Church, Nyeri in the Nyeri County.
In her eulogy, Sr. Esther Ichugu who works in the Beatification office, on behalf of the central committee of the Cardinal Otunga Beatification Process described the late Wahome as an active member of the Beatification’s central committee; he never tired despite his age and acted as role model in punctuality. “We shall always remember him for his active participation in the process.
May the good Lord bless and rest his soul in peace,” she eulogized. Earlier Cardinal Njue had praised the late Wahome for his great contribution in the Church. “He gave his time and resources for the work of God. This, we praise God for.
May He rest him in peace,” said Cardinal Njue in his homily at the Holy family Minor Basilica, Nairobi. The late Wahome had for example been the Chairman of the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Nairobi for a record of 27 years.
He died at the age of 84 years. He was blessed with a wife, Alice Njoki and five children
